ACLS HC - 01/09/25 (1:00pm - 1:30pm EST) Event Full

MET 6

HeartCode® ACLS is an official AHA two-part program for individuals interested in self-paced, online ACLS certification or recertification. Providers are presented with online course content and realistic patient cases. Participants are required to interact with the program to assess the patient, formulate a treatment plan (based on the ACLS algorithms) and administer treatment.

After completing the didactic portion of the course, you will need to come on-site to WISER or a designated WISER site to complete your skills portion. When you registered for this course, you selected a date to complete your skills session. This is the date you are scheduled to come on-site at WISER and complete your skills test with a WISER AHA Instructor. You will receive an AHA ACLS course completion card upon completing the didactic and skills tests.

Part 1

The didactic portion requires the participants to complete online scenarios & written exam. You can complete this anywhere you have an internet connection. The average completion time is up to 4.5 hours. The material needs to be completed in sequential order. However, you do not need to complete it in a single session. You can stop and return later and pick up where you left off.

Steps:

  1. Follow the link above to the AHA eLearning website.
  2. Click the Activate Course button on the right side of the page.
  3. A Terms and Conditions window will appear; click I AGREE.
  4. You will be asked to sign in with your AHA username and password (create an AHA account if you do not already have one).
  5. After logging in, you will be redirected to the AHA My Course page; click the LAUNCH button to begin.

The course will remain accessible for 24 months from the date of activation. You can pause as needed and return to the content following the link above. Please note that the program will time out after 20 minutes of inactivity.

Once you have completed the online portion, you MUST print your certificate and bring it to your scheduled hands-on skills portion of the course. You have 60 days from completing the online part to complete your skills test.

If you have any questions or need to change your scheduled skills testing date, please email: wiserhelp@upmc.edu or call 412-648-6073
