  • UPMC Focused Scalpel-Bougie Front of Neck Access Workshop

    Dates: Sat 10/05/2024

    Times: 30min time slot between 8AM-12PM

    Location: UPMC Passavant

    Surgical airway management remains an opportunity to demonstrate our skill as airway experts. This is a workshop open to all UPMC anesthesiologists and certified nurse anesthetists to learn, train and practice the Scalpel Bougie Front of Neck Access technique with local airway expert faculty. 

    Objectives: 

    1. Learn and practice the scalpel-bougie front of neck access technique.
    2. Participate in a simulation clinical trial. 

    This is supported by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare Early Career Research Award Grant, Passavant Hospital Foundation and UPMC Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine.

    This activity is approved for the following credit: AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Certified nurse anesthetists will receive 1 Class A credit confirming the number of contact hours commensurate with the extent of participation in this activity.
